Music of the Month: July

So I’m trying this new thing where I show you all what I’ve been listening to this past month (or past few weeks in this case).  I’ve been discovering so many new artists because of this same sort of thing that other bloggers do so I thought I’d join in!  Here are my picks for the month of July/early August!

Recently, I’ve been obsessed with movie soundtracks so pretty much all of these songs reflect that!

1.  Flashlight by Jessie J – from Pitch Perfect 2

I LOVED this song in the movie!  It was the final song that the Bellas sang and it was seriously epic.  There isn’t anything on Youtube yet that shows the entire final song yet so the music video will have to do.

2.  Phantom of the Opera Medley by Peter Hollens ft. Evynne Hollens – Phantom of the Opera

I just came across Peter Hollens’ channel on Youtube and man this guy is awesome!  He does covers of songs acapella style (so no instruments whatsoever).  All of his videos are just amazing!

3.  Into the Woods Medley by Lindsey Stirling – Into the Woods

I love love LOVE Lindsey Stirling’s music so I was really excited she was doing a cover of the Into the Woods music!  She’s a violinist who does covers of songs as well as her own original work!

4.  I’m Still Here by John Rzeznik – Treasure Planet

Treasure Planet has some seriously awesome music but this song is my favorite 🙂  John Rzeznik is the lead man for the Goo Goo Dolls which are also really good!

5.  When Will My Life Begin? by Mandy Moore – Tangled

Tangled is an awesome and adorable movie (one of my favorite Disney movies right next to Brave!) and I just love this song.  Mandy Moore’s voice is so amazing!

6.  Touch the Sky by Julie Fowlis – Brave

I just love Brave’s soundtrack and it’s overall message.  This is such an epic song.

7.  I See Fire by Ed Sheeran – The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Oh my gosh I’m such a big fan of Ed Sheeran and this song fits perfectly with the movie!

8.  Reflection by Lea Salonga – Mulan

Again, such a good song and a good movie!

9.  Immortals by Fall Out Boy – Big Hero 6

This was such a funny movie and this song perfectly represents it!  When they play it in the movie during the training montage it’s so epic 😀

So what have you been listening to this month?
